This reads like a tall tale you learned as a kid!  Derek Wolfe (notice the last name) took down a giant mountain lion when it had been creating problems in a rural neighborhood and even killed a couple of dogs that were pets of a woman that lived in the area.  Hiked up and down a mountain until he finally came upon the mountain lion and killed it with a bow and arrow.
