Gavin James shared his new single, “Hearts On Fire,” and the accompanying animated lyric video back in October. With its infectious chants and hook-laden chorus, the song became a fan favorite after James began performing it live. The young Irish artist co-wrote the track with Sam Romans (Little Mix, Mary J. Blige, Rag n Bone Man) and produced it with Steve Robson (One Direction, John Legend, James Bay). It is the first single from James’ forthcoming studio album, which is due out in Spring of 2018. James spent the fall of 2017 opening for his Capitol Records label mate Niall Horan on the sold-out Flicker Sessions 2017 tour.
One of the breakthrough artists of 2017, James has sold over two million singles worldwide and amassed half a billion streams on Spotify alone since the release of his debut studio album, Bitter Pill, which contained the hit single “Nervous.” He has performed over 500 shows to more than three million people at festivals and on sold-out tours across the U.S., Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia. James has also supported such artists as Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.
Noisey.com hailed James as “a soulful singer-songwriter sure to make you feel less alone when you’re down in the dumps” and Clash praised him as “tender, emotional…no mean talent.” The Irish Times said, “there is proof on Bitter Pill that James has enough emotionally depth-charged tunes in his back pocket to take him from here to the top of the charts and back again.”
