Top South Florida Chefs To Join Forces for Junior Achievement at JA World Uncorked! Event
Sip, Savor and Create Your Own Experience at January 25 Culinary Showcase
Ever wish you could spend an evening chatting with top South Florida chefs while tasting your way through a "tour" of their delicious creations? Then plan to create your own gourmet experience
January 25, 2014 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the fourth annual JA World Uncorked!, culinary showcase, presented by Premier Beverage and hosted by co-chairs Rose Faraone and Lacey Brisson with Junior Achievement of South Florida’s Circle of Wise Women.
This "Fork & Cork Affair" benefiting Junior Achievement of South Florida will transform the 60,000-square-foot JA World facility at Broward College in Coconut Creek into a wonderland for foodies – all for a great cause. Proceeds from the annual event, along with other Circle initiatives, have raised over $1.75 million dollars since 2010 and help support JA’s financial education programs for every fifth and eighth grader in Broward County public schools and many private schools.
The Uncorked! culinary team has gathered leading South Florida chefs, caterers and specialty shops to create the evening’s treats. The Circle of Wise Women expects more than 600 guests to attend and anticipates another sell-out event this year. Open to guests age 21 and older, Uncorked! is a no-program, table-free delight for the adventurous palate. Tickets are $150 per person and are available in advance at www.jaworlduncorked.com.
Designing their own route, guests will enjoy wines and spirits from Premier Beverage and intriguing craft beers from Funky Buddha Brewery and Brown Distributing, while sampling bite-sized gourmet treats. They’ll sip and savor their way through distinctive areas such as the Chef Experience Alley, Gourmet Comfort Food Alley and Dessert Bash featuring creations by pros including the event’s Chef Liaisons: Wes Bonner of Publix Aprons Cooking School & Catering; Asher Roebuck of Timpano Italian Chophouse and Paula DaSilva of 3030 Ocean, a veteran of TV’s Hell’s Kitchen. New this year, the Florida Panthers Foundation hosts the Club Red Uncorked! VIP Sponsor Experience hosted by Chef Marc Gruverman of The Capital Grille.
In keeping with the Circle of Wise Women’s mission of helping young people envision and achieve career dreams, Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale culinary students will work directly with the professionals, prepping ingredients -- and sharing the excitement. The Korbel Uncorked! Dessert competition will provide $2000 in scholarships for culinary students and decadent desserts for JA World Uncorked! guests.
