Camp Gladiator and local breast cancer groups kick off National Breast Cancer Awareness month with ribbon cutting and waterfront festivities
South Florida Camp Gladiator franchise owner Erika Strimer announced today that the premier outdoor fitness group will be dedicating the 4-week October camp to raising funds for two organizations – FORCE and the American Cancer Society – in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The group will kick off their month long fundraising endeavor this Thursday, October 3rd, at 5:30 pm with a Ribbon Cutting hosted by the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches. The ribbon cutting will take place in downtown West Palm Beach at the waterfront, off of Clematis Street and Flagler Drive. All are invited to join in the festivities, which will include snacks and a raffle, and get information on how to join the effort. Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered (FORCE), is a national nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Of the 750,000 Americans who carry the BRCA mutation, 90% are not aware of their cancer risk. FORCE’s mission is to raise awareness about hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Camp Gladiator will also be teaming up with the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, which will take place on Saturday, October 19th, at 9:00am at the Meyer Amphitheatre. Camp Gladiator trainers and members will be hosting a pre-walk warm up and will be walking as a team.
